Tree Removal Lexington KY — Safe, Professional, Fully Insured

Tree removal Lexington KY homeowners and property owners rely on starts with a thorough on-site assessment, honest pricing, and a crew that has the equipment and experience to handle any job safely. At Lexington Trees, we remove trees of all sizes — from small ornamentals in tight residential backyards to large canopy trees growing adjacent to homes, driveways, sheds, and power lines — and we leave the site clean when we’re done.

Lexington’s residential canopy is dominated by mature hardwoods. White oaks, red maples, sweet gums, and tulip poplars that have been growing for decades are a defining feature of neighbourhoods across Fayette County — from the established streets of Chevy Chase and Kenwick to the newer developments pushing south and east of the city. These trees add real value to properties, but they also age, develop structural problems, and in some cases become hazards that need to be removed before they cause damage.

When Tree Removal Is the Right Call

Not every tree with a problem needs to come down — good arboricultural practice means recommending removal only when it’s actually warranted. The situations that typically require removal rather than trimming or treatment include: trees that are structurally compromised beyond recovery, with major trunk cracks, significant lean that has developed recently, or co-dominant stems with included bark that create a high failure risk; trees that are dead or in advanced decline, with more than half the crown gone or no recovery of live tissue after treatment; trees with severe basal decay indicated by fungal growth at the base, hollow sections, or root damage that has undermined the anchoring system; and trees in locations where continued growth creates unacceptable risk to structures, utilities, or people.

We also handle removals for construction and landscaping projects — clearing lots, removing trees whose root systems are threatening driveways or foundations, and taking out trees to open sight lines or make space for new builds. Whatever the reason, we assess the tree properly before any work is scheduled.

How We Work

Every job starts with a free on-site walk. We assess the tree’s condition, identify the access constraints, plan the felling or sectional removal sequence, and confirm that adjacent structures, fences, garden beds, and landscaping are protected before any cutting begins. For trees in constrained positions — common in older Lexington neighbourhoods where lots are narrow and structures are close together — we use sectional removal from the top down, lowering sections with rigging rather than dropping them.

Once the tree is down, all brush is chipped on-site and hauled away. Log sections from larger trunks can be left for firewood or removed — let us know at booking. The site is raked and left clean. Stump grinding is available as an add-on and can be completed the same day in most cases.

Fully Insured — Every Job

Every tree removal we carry out is covered by full liability insurance. Before any work begins, we walk the site with you, explain the plan, and confirm pricing in writing. We do not send uninsured subcontractors to your property. If you want to see insurance documentation before committing, ask — we’ll provide it.
